A fun day was had by all! The emotion stones were a huge hit along with the emotions workbook and worksheets - a young person was able to gather all the emotions they feel going on inside their head and body with the ‘anger’ emotion.

Absolutely brilliant product. The child can express how they feel with these stones without getting angry because they can't get their words out to explain. Will be using them with Foster children and showing my social worker and trauma worker. Thank u so much xx

I purchased these emotion stones and card game to use in school in our ELSA emotional literacy intervention sessions. The children love them! They are perfect for helping to identify different emotions and great for small hands. Highly recommended!

I think these Calming Kit stones are absolutely brilliant! I have had a career in SEND Education and have 2 grown up children with Autism. These are such a good idea, very tactile and I’m sure would aid communication and emotional intelligence between parents or teachers and their children. Great idea!

I could have cried when I saw all these lovely resources! There is very little out there that looks appealing and fun. I spent ages looking at everything and cannot wait to give them to my granddaughter and sit at the table with her.

I asked Susan if she could create the Calming Kit set for my older daughter and her setting to be able to use to support regulation when out in the community. Managing big feelings and anxieties are a really big part of my daughters daily life and she is very much a visual learner so needs that physical touch of something just to ground her to what s going on in that moment for her. These pebbles were perfect for this as the physical feel of them in her hand worked to bring her focus back and she enjoyed carrying out the strategies on each pebble. A really lovely resource for anyone that struggles to emotionally regulate whatever your age.

I am so grateful you took the time to send me the PDFs. I work with over 100 children with SEMH needs across the city and these will be amazing!!

My daughter loves the activities and we keep going back to emotions. I ask her how she did at school and I turn my back. When I turn round I see which emotion she has chosen and we chat about things. The other day she gave me sad and it was because her friend had pushed her at school so we were able to chat about it after she gave me the stone. It helped her 'pause' while she found the words.

Evening, got item today. I must say your little note was wonderful my son hasn't been school in 4 yrs and it touched him to the stage that he's put the affirmation print on his wall next to his bed. You made his day! Thank u again.

The Activity Set has been so amazing for my daughter. It has opened up so many conversations about feelings and emotions and the activities have really supported her confidence in talking about how she feels about things. One of the activities was brilliant for building her self-esteem and being on the go all the time she has enjoyed calmer moments and now understands we need time just to relax and think about our feelings. All the activities are so well thought out.Thank you Susan for supporting my daughter's well-being. It has been wonderful as a mother to spend this special time with her.

I have been using these emotion cards all week and they're a huge success. Helping children to open up and discuss their feelings - opening doors that were very firmly shut. They're fabulous!

A box of magic!  If you’re looking for something to sit and spend some quiet and quality time with your little one, these will be perfect for you. Fantastic visuals and lots to do inside what is truly a box of treasures. We had such fun simply going through the contents with lots of wows. Really impressed and cannot recommend this box enough. Just buy it!

I love the little gnomes name Tinker Snickels. A fabulous story about a little gnome understanding growing up. Being "a bit out of gnomey-sorts" is such a good expression. All children go through those strange feelings, of either not fitting in, name calling etc. Tinker Snickels after a dream, decides to go off and follow his dreams. What comes next is all very magical, a magic sewing basket, a silver bell and a special secret to unfurl...... Tinker learns that running away, isn't the answer and would have made his parents very worried. A delightful story, warm and fun, with some lovely little life lessons along the way.

Halfpint and the Nurture Gnomes book shows how simple it can be to help anyone who feels different, for whatever reason. It's author, Susan Harvey is a former special needs teacher, and mother of an autistic son - who better to explain about those experiencing their surroundings in a different way, for instance those who struggle with loud noise or big crowds. In this book, Halfpint the gnome works out why he's feeling sad and gets help from his mum, teacher and community. Heartwarming and a lovely read.

Being able to recognise emotions, see them, name them really helps with communication, to help read and understand others. These books and stones were created for this purpose. My pupil benefitted from and enjoyed using these resources today.

He literally told his Gnome Buddy about something he was worried about in school last week and I was then able to open a conversation with him around it and then let the teacher know - otherwise he was keeping it all to himself “in case he got in trouble for telling on someone.” He was beginning to not want to go into school, but thankfully we got it sorted.

Thank you so much for sending me a copy of your delightful book (Halfpint and the Nurture Gnomes), it's very much appreciated.  I must say the illustrations are gorgeous and it's a lovely, gentle story with a very powerful message woven through it, making it a joy to read.

Our daughter absolutely loved the story about Tinkersnickels and now we're looking forward to reading about his friend, Halfpint!

We are an organisation that supports adults and children and saw your emotion stones as a great tool to use in our setting. They have been used within the counselling and peer support setting (veterans and their families). These stones have been an opportunity for our service users to express their emotions easily, and they are fantastic.

The Gnome Emoji workbook is very funny, my son is trying to draw the same faces with the same shape and colour. He especially enjoys the blank space just opposite, so it reduces any distraction.

The book about Tinker Snickels and the gnome affirmations really helped my daughter to start to understand emotions and how things that can happen can make people feel different things. She would only previously refer to being happy or sad, but now she has added to her understanding of different emotions.
Lisa (Mummy to daughter aged 8)

A big thank you for the Gnome-Emoji card game. Our Year 2 class played the game on a rainy day and they absolutely loved them. In fact they ask for the card game every day. The children were all engaged, asked each other questions and sat listening to their peers. These cards really have got the children talking and using more-in depth emotions to tell how they feel.

So many wonderful people bought Nurture Gnome colouring books for the children of Ukraine, and all the proceeds went to Unicef (£86.40). Thank you to everyone for their kindness. With best wishes, Susan. x

We are hugely grateful for this book. At YoungMinds, we want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.  With the generous support of people like Susan, we are confident we can make these ambitions a reality. Thank you. Please find attached our 'in support' logo for your website.

Very best wishes

Love this little book about Tinker Snickels, and the moral of the story. Young children will love the illustrations too! If we can encourage talking about our feelings from a young age, our teenagers and also adults, may suffer less with mental illnesses. Love that the author is donating a percentage of RRP to charity.
